LEO Club of INTI International University had organized an one-week event in student concourse of the campus to raise animal cruelty awareness.The dates were set from 11th to 17th July 2011.This event was in partnership with two animal shelters from KL area, SPCA and PAWS.
Animal Cruelty Awareness Week is comprised of exhibition about animal cruelty, petition signing against animal cruelty, merchandise selling, pet+owner photo competition and volunteering trip to animal shelter. The exhibition was a simple one due to short semester, yet, we did get quite a lot of attention from the uni students.

ii) Petition signing : The petition for the government was prepared by NGOs in order to urge government to raise penalty for animal abuse.

iii) Merchandise selling. All the merchandises were gotten from SPCA and PAWS. It was a way for us to raise fund for them. Collectively we had successfully raised RM2000 for them through the sales.

iv) Pet + Owner photo competition
This is Jan-vy and her pet, Booboo !
She is the winner of the competition with the highest vote of 765.
The prizes were sponsored by SPCA. They consisted of a SPCA mouse pad and Paws-its-notes together with SPCA Annual review magazine.
For the competition, we had created a fan page with around 2780 fans. It was a great success because we could continually to raise awareness among all the fans eventhough the event has ended.
v) Volunteering trip to SPCA
During the weekend of the week, we had organized two trips to volunteer at animal shelter. One trip consisted about 17 people ( Including the lead)

This event was a successful one as it has achieved its objective - creating awareness among University students. It was glad to see so many animal lovers who volunteered for the trip were not afraid of poo, dirts, and saliva of the animals.This is the first time LEO Club of INTI-IU organizing this event.
