This is our first event for September 2009 semester. 50 members and 14 orphans from Myanmar joined us for this meaningful activities. The main objectives of this event are to let fellow participants learn how to be more environmental friendly and gain experiences by taking care of children, as well as those animals.
On 26th September 2009, comittees gathered at Multi Purpose Hall at around 6am. Members too gather at the same venue at around 6.30am. We departed from INTI-UC at about 7am, heading to Zoo Negara. We met those children up at Zoo Negara when we reached, and had a small briefing before we started to work. After the briefing, everyone of us was devided into few groups. Each group follow their own zoo keeper, heading to different departments to start their work. The department we involved including the reptiles department, the bird's house, the lions and tigers department, the giraffe department and animals' performances helper department.
After the zoo keepers distributed the tasks, we started our job immediately. We swept the floor, picking up leaves, preparing food for animals, cleaning up the excretions of animals and a lot more. The process was so tiring, yes, but the experiences we gained are too much more worth it compare with our tiredness. During the comunity service, we met a lot of new friends too. All of us are from different places, different countries but yet we were there, working together, having fun together just because of LEO Mission.
At about 5pm, we left Zoo Negara and back to INTI-UC. On the way back, everyone was so tired and most of us rest and slept on the bus. It is a very nice experience, everyone gained a lot, mentally.
Happy Together ! =)
